MIA

It has been over a month since I have written. It has felt like a chore. Everything, really, has felt like a chore lately. Everything just feels, heavy.

Like many others, it is because I carry the weight of this pandemic around with me. No, it has not affected me personally -thank God- except in the day to day changes that we have had to get accustomed to.

Like many others, I have not left my house in 7+ weeks. Thankfully we are not in full blown lock down and can go out doors, but the weather in New England hasn’t really been conducive for that.

Like many others, I have found my new “normal” means a lot of new things. Social distancing and self quarantining. Sanitizing ourselves, and every item that comes into our homes. Face masks that make it hard to breathe and impossible to show emotion. 6′ away at all times. 14 days is just what you do. No more dates, happy hours or paint nights. No school or classes or play dates for the kids. No gym, hair appointments, nails done or spa treatments. No hugs.

Like many others, I’m not even a hugger, and I want to hug everyone right now. Watch out when this is all over.

I have so many ideas and topics and things I want to write about and share. Many of which are half written already. But finding the motivation, energy, inspiration to write -right now- is seeming to be the most difficult thing in the world. Not to mention that many of the topics are best saved for brighter days ahead.

As we learn to live with the aftermath of this pandemic, and as things calm down around us and the world begins to breathe easy again, I promise I will be back. We will laugh, cry, celebrate and have fun weekly again. I will teach you things, and learn from you.

When life is pretty again, I promise I will be back.

Until then, stay safe, stay healthy, and stay home.
